LighterLiver

For GPs, hepatologists and dietitians

A patient who arrives knowing their numbers.

A tracking and education app for steatotic liver disease. Patients use it. You recommend it.

What the patient gets

A record they keep themselves, in plain language, that points back to you.

Their results as a trend

ALT, AST, GGT, platelets, FIB-4 with age-adjusted cut-offs, FibroScan stiffness and CAP, weight, waist and blood pressure. Typed in, or read from a photographed report.

Reminders timed to you

Bloods one to two weeks before a review, scans at the interval you set, surveillance only where cirrhosis is flagged.

Education matched to diagnosis

Short lessons for MASLD, MetALD and ALD, three more for cirrhosis. No weight-loss push with cirrhosis; abstinence as ordinary care in ALD.

The four pillars, without the lecture

Weight, food, movement, and alcohol where it applies. One small step each, and a fortnightly food check-in. No meal logging.

What you get

A better consultation

  • A one-page summary the patient brings: results with dates, FIB-4, the trend, and what they changed and when.
  • Fewer "what was my ALT" conversations, more time on what to do next.
  • Consistent messages. The advice follows the 2024 EASL–EASD–EASO guideline and GESA guidance, cites its sources, and says on screen that your plan comes first.

What it is not

The boundaries matter as much as the features.

Not a diagnostic

It never infers cirrhosis, stages disease, or tells a patient they are safe. Cirrhosis is a patient-entered flag on your advice, and it changes the guidance rather than the numbers.

Not a data pipeline

Everything stays on the phone. No account, no server, nothing sent unless the patient chooses to share or export. Research matching, when offered, is opt-in and de-identified.

Not a substitute for you

Every screen that gives advice says your plan comes first. The app's job is to make the patient's next visit with you more useful.

Recommending it

Tell the patient the name. During testing, invitations come through TestFlight; write to us and we will set your clinic up.

Clinic links are coming, so you can see uptake among your own patients. Made in Melbourne by a hepatologist; the clinical content is reviewed and dated, with a dietitian review of the food content under way.

LighterLiver is a tracking and education tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose. Intended for adults with a diagnosis of steatotic liver disease, as an adjunct to usual care.
